THE GERALD AVERAY WAINWRIGHT FUND

FOR NEAR EASTERN ARCHAEOLOGY

Fellowship

The Wainwright Fund supports a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship. The Fellowship provides an opportunity for outstanding younger scholars to obtain research experience in the field of non-classical archaeology (not literary or philological studies) of any country or countries of Northern Africa and the Near East (from Morocco to Afghanistan).

We currently have a Research Fellow, Dr Amy Richardson, appointed in 2015 to study Networks of Materiality in the Neolithic Eastern Fertile Crescent, and two Early Career Fellows in Near-Eastern Archaeology for a period of six months: Dr Jade Whitlam and Dr Sam Walsh.

Previous Research Fellows were: Dr Lucy Wadeson, appointed in 2010 to study The Funerary Topography of Petra, and Dr Linda Hulin, appointed in 2006 to study The Egyptian Experience of Empire in New Kingdom Egypt and the Levant
